Why is Lola Pearce leaving EastEnders?
Danielle is leaving EastEnders due to new boss Chris Clenshaw’s plan to shake-up the show.
A big storyline has been planned by show bosses as to how the single-mum leaves Walford.
HOAR exclusively revealed that Danielle met with soap bosses where she expected to discuss an extension of her contract but was instead told her days on the show were numbered.
An EastEnders insider said: “Dan was in pieces. The cull came out of the blue.
“She was not expecting the chop because her character has been a firm favourite with viewers. She’ll be written out with no option to return.”
The set insider added: “Danielle was teary but was told a number of the cast were being shown the door.
“No-one else has been given their marching orders yet however. The rest of the cast are rallying around her.”
When is Lola Pearce leaving EastEnders?
It was revealed in 2022 that Lola had an untreatable brain tumour.
An exact date has not been revealed as to when Lola passes away but she married Jay soon before.
How long has Lola Pearce been in EastEnders?
Lola has been a familiar face in EastEnders for a number of years as well as being involved in some big storylines.
Danielle first joined the EastEnders cast as Lola from 2011 to 2015, before being written out of the show.
The character made a dramatic return in 2019.
Her character is a single mum to Lexi, who she shares with Ben Mitchell.
