EMMERDALE fans were gutted for Wendy this week when Bob Hope brutally rejected her after her love letter ended up in the wrong hands.
With Manpreet having told Bob about the love letter mix-up, Bob has some grovelling to do. But will Wendy accept his apology? Here’s everything you need to know…
Why did Bob Hope reject Wendy in Emmerdale?
Viewers know that romance has been blossoming between Bob and Wendy in Emmerdale for a while, and that he recently declared his love for her after she was mugged.
But disaster struck when Rishi got hold of Wendy’s love letter this week in Emmerdale and assumed it was addressed to him – when Wendy had actually intended it for Bob.
A stunned Rishi later showed the letter to Bob who, oblivious to the letter mix-up, then brutally rejected Wendy when she turned up at the pub to chat to him about his feelings.
Bob raged at her: “Whatever it is you’re intending to happen, you’re sadly deluded.
“You’re embarrassing yourself if I’m honest. I’m really surprised at you.”
He went on: “I read your letter. Where’s your self-respect?”
Wendy was mortified at his harsh words and shuffled off in tears.
Fans were devastated for Wendy after Bob’s vicious rejection and took to Twitter to express their dismay.
One viewer tweeted: “Awww poor Wendy! I really want her and Bob together.”
Another added: “That was a bit brutal from Bob NGL #Emmerdale.”
Will Wendy accept Bob Hope’s apology in Emmerdale?
Manpreet later saved the day when she got wind of the letter mix-up.
Bob was stunned when Manpreet told him Wendy’s later had actually been intended for him – and not Rishi.
Bob was then flooded with guilt for the way he’d spoken to Wendy, and realised he had a lot of grovelling to do.

But will Wendy ever accept his apology – or might Bob have put his foot in it with his vicious reaction?
Fans weren’t impressed by Bob’s harsh words and think the way he spoke to Wendy was out of order.
One fan joked: “‘She likes me’ Probably NOT anymore Bob after the way he just spoke her, even Wendy didn’t deserve that #Emmerdale.”
Another added: “Bob you have got some grovelling to do son #Emmerdale.”
What has Susan Cookson said about Wendy’s romance with Bob?
Susan Cookson – who plays Wendy on the ITV soap – spoke to Digital Spy about why Bob is the perfect man for her character.
She said: “Bob is such a lovely character and a kind man with huge life experience. Lots has gone on in Bob’s life. Bob is someone who has seen this woman and has a level of empathy for what she’s been through.
“He’s cut through all of the anger, hatred and hurt that’s going on for so many different characters. He sees that, as a mother, she’s trying to do the best she can for her children and her grandchild.
She added: “He’s a very kind person and he feels that he just needs to hold out a hand and show a bit of support.
“It’s very well-received by Wendy that someone knows what she’s going through. Bob has lost a child and Wendy thinks: ‘Thank God that he knows what I’m going through’.”
