THERE’s light at the end of the tunnel for Yasmeen Nazir tonight in Coronation Street (June 10) when she pleads not guilty in court.

But will Yasmeen be convicted or will Geoff Metcalfe end up taking her place in prison? Here’s everything you need to know…

Corrie fans desperately want Geoff behind bars

Will Geoff end up in prison instead of Yasmeen in Corrie?

Coronation Street are yet to confirm the outcome of Yasmeen’s trial.

But that hasn’t stopped fans of the ITV soap hoping that Yasmeen will be freed and Geoff put in her place behind bars.

One fan tweeted: “Oh my God look at Yasmeen in prison bless her heart. I hate Geoff I really do.”

Another said: “I can’t wait for her to get justice.“

A third tweeted: “Hope she sends Geoff down to prison behind bars. Bring on next weeks episodes.”

Corrie producer Ian MacLeod has already confirmed that Geoff will meet his downfall this year.

He previously said: “What form that comeuppance takes is still in discussion. We wanted a redemptive ending ultimately for Yasmeen.”

Adding that he, Ian and Shelley had been in correspondence with real-life abuse victims, Ian continued: “For the sake of all those people, we have to tell the right ending with some positivity and optimism.”

But Corrie bosses are yet to confirm whether this means he ends up behind bars, and fans will have to tune in to find out.

Yasmeen is currently facing imprisonment for the attempted murder of Geoff

What evidence could be used against Geoff in Corrie?

Geoff’s deleted footage

Geoff appeared to dodge a bullet when he managed to retrieve the hidden camera and delete the footage on his laptop showing him attacking Yasmeen with a knife – evidence proving her innocence.

But Corrie fans are convinced that the police will retrieve footage of Geoff and Yasmeen’s final argument that the abuser deleted from his laptop.

Corrie bosses may be saving the discovery for later down the line but, with plot details yet to be confirmed, fans will have to tune in to find out.

Geoff’s binned camera

Corrie fans were baffled last month when they got a glimpse of Geoff’s camera for the first time – and realised it was huge.

The sheer size of the camera left viewers baffled as to how a full police investigation and forensics team had managed to miss it.

Fans think the police might still find the camera after Geoff dumped it in Sally and Tim’s bin after deleting the footage from his laptop.

Sally Metcalfe’s evidence

With Sally Metcalfe set to turn against her father-in-law Geoff this week and kick him out of the house, fans are convinced that she’ll expose him as an abuser and help free Yasmeen from prison.

Corrie fans think Sally will uncover Geoff’s abuse of Yasmeen

Viewers have been predicting that Sally will hold the key to uncovering Geoff’s abuse after she witnessed a string of suspicious events as his neighbour – including the burning of Yasmeen’s belongings and Geoff’s controlling behaviour.

With Sally and Yasmeen’s granddaughter Alya leading the way, fans are convinced that the women of Weatherfield will come to Yasmeen’s rescue and put forward the necessary evidence to secure Geoff’s downfall.
