CHANNEL 5 presenter Dan Walker has revealed he’s been having secret motivational talks with Helen Skelton to help her get through Strictly Come Dancing.
The news and sports reporter appeared on the 2021 series of the BBC dancing show, coming in fifth place alongside pro partner, Nadiya Bychkova.

So he knows exactly what Helen, who is currently on the show with Gorka Marquez, is going through, and is there to lend an ear when she needs it.
Speaking to Daily Star, Walker revealed: “I know Helen Skelton really well and I’ve been talking to her quite a bit and I think he’s been fantastic and I told her she’s going to be there for quite some time.”
“She rang me the week before she went on and I told her ‘you have to go into it with her eyes wide open’,” he added.
Seems like his pep talks are doing her some good too – with her performance last week landing her the best score yet.
Going back to her roots, Helen paid homage to Blue Peter with a Charleston to the theme song as part of the BBC’s 100th birthday celebrations.
The performance guaranteed them a continued spot on the series.
This week, it’s the annual Halloween spectacular, and Helen and Gorka will be performing a foxtrot to Lil Red Riding Hood by Sam the Sham and The Pharaohs.
Out of respect for his Christian faith, Walker and Nadiya went for a more fun approach to the theme week last year, ignoring the gothic imagery and spooky decorations to perform a memorable routine to Rock Lobster by the B52s.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
