Strictly Come Dancing was cancelled on Saturday night and the schedule change infuriated viewers

It was bumped from its regular Saturday slot on December 10 for the World Cup.

Instead the main show will air on Sunday at 7.15pm.

The pre-recorded results show will then air on Monday at the later time of 8.15pm.

People shared their frustration on Twitter, and one ranted: “I’m so disorientated by the absence of #Strictly from TV tonight.”

Another penned: “Why isn’t #Strictly on when the match isn’t even on the BBC? It’s what sustains us…we need our Saturday sparkles ”

And a third Tweeted: “Well BBC I’m not watching the fecking football on ITV even if you have postponed #Strictly just because you think everybody wants to watch the England Vs Whoever match”

It’s not the first time the FIFA World Cup’s televised fixtures has taken priority on the channel.

Last week’s semi-final was cancelled on Saturday night too, and aired on Friday instead.

Strictly isn’t the first show to be given a scheduling shake-up to accommodate the world cup.

Soaps EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale have all been disrupted since the competition began in Qatar.

There are just five couples left in Strictly after Kym Marsh and her pro partner Graziano Di Prima. became the latest pair to miss out on the chance of lifting the Glitterball Trophy.

It comes as the bookies claimed Molly Rainford would be the next star to leave the competition.
