LOOSE Women star Kaye Adams has revealed she suffered some nasty secret injuries during her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 59-year-old panellist was paired with pro Kai Widdrington, 27, on the BBC dancing show, but was the first to be eliminated in a shock early exit from the competition.

Kaye and Kai were the first couple to be eliminated from this year’s Strictly

Kay’s ribs took a nasty knock while training for the competition

But despite saying goodbye to the dance floor after only two performances, Kaye still enjoyed her participation – as it certainly left a mark on her.

“I came out early that is for sure. It is so unpredictable. I did have a great experience. It would have been lovely to stay for longer but I don’t have any regrets,” she told SE Online.

“My ribs, my poor old ribs. I still have the marks from my fake tan. I will be sad when it disappears. That will be like the last memory going.”

It appears her body took a knock more than her ego did with that one!

Kaye previously spoke to us about the shock that came with her taking on the challenge of Strictly, particularly the ageism and sexism she began to notice.

She also jumped to the defence of head judge Shirley Ballas, who has been criticised for “favouring the male celebs” over their female counterparts.

“I’m desperately sorry Shirley has been subjected to some of the comments she has this week,” she told us.

“It’s despicable and unwarranted. She’s hugely talented and highly-qualified for that job.

“Why are we making age a factor here? There are lots of reasons why you might like or not like an individual and that’s perfectly valid. The fact they’ve lived to that point in their life –  why are we using that against people?

“Even the word ‘flirty’. Are we trying to suggest she’s coming onto them? That’s clearly ridiculous.

“Shirley‘s a very vibrant, very attractive, very outgoing woman with an extrovert personality. She’s just being her. Shirley is just being Shirley. She should not have to apologise for that on the basis of her age – nor should any of us.”

Since Kay’s elimination, two more celebrities have waltzed off the dance floor – Richie Anderson and Giovanni Pernice in a second week shock exit, and Matt Goss and Nadiya Bychkova during week three.

Eleven competitive couples remain, and this week they will be celebrating the BBC’s Centenary with TV show themed dances.

Routines include a dance to Grange Hill’s theme, Doctor Who, and Line Of Duty, with Jayde Adams and Karen Hauer performing a more comedic routine in honour of Victoria Wood’s iconic song, Let’s Do It.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
