Strictly Fans Accuse Anton Du Beke of Overscoring Celeb on Christmas Special

Controversial Scoring Decision

Furious fans of Strictly Come Dancing have accused professional dancer Anton Du Beke of overscoring his celebrity partner, Nadiya Bychkova, during the show's Christmas special. Bychkova and her partner, historian Dan Snow, performed a jive routine to Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You." However, their performance failed to impress the judges and they received the lowest score of the evening – a 30.

A Surprise from Anton

While judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas all gave the couple a seven, Anton Du Beke surprised everyone by awarding them a nine. Viewers took to social media to express their shock and disbelief at the scoring decision. One person wrote, "Not Anton with the 9 after everyone else gave 7s," while another commented, "I forgot about the stupidly inflated Christmas scores." The high scores and overly positive comments from the judges have led some fans to question the credibility of the Christmas special.

Christmas Special Winner

The Christmas special was ultimately won by EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick, who lifted the Silver Star trophy alongside his professional dance partner Nancy Xu. The winner was determined by a vote from the show's audience and judges. Borthwick expressed his gratitude and said, "This is great, it's been a wonderful experience, but we're all winners here. This show is magic." Other contestants on the Christmas special included BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent, historian Dan Snow, rugby union player Danny Cipriani, The Teacher star Tillie Amartey, and Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan.
