Strictly fans all make the same complaint over Musicals Week as remaining stars battle it out in quarter final

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans moaned tonight as the show aired a day earlier than usual.

The Strictly quarter-final aired on Friday night due to the World Cup coverage on Saturday.

Singer Molly Rainford opened Strictly Come Dancing’s quarter final and Musicals Week with a Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from Chicago

But loads of viewers said they felt out of sync as they tuned in at 8pm to see the remaining celebs perform dances inspired by theatre land.

One baffled viewer said on Twitter: “Can’t get my head round #Strictly being on Friday Night.”

Another remarked: “Utterly confused. Friday night.”

Whle a third said: “Im not sure how I feel about #Strictly on a Friday night, I’m not prepared.”

Molly Rainford and pro partner Carlos Gu kicked off Musicals Week and took to the dancefloor to perform a Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from Chicago.

After an upbeat performance from the singer, 22, she received a standing ovation from judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.

Shirley said: “What a way to open the show, I wasn’t expecting that… you looked like you were having a ball.”

Anton Du Beke said: “If you’re going to pick a moment to up your game, you’ve picked it, well done, marvellous.”

Craig Revel Horwood added: “Your elbow… was a little low… (but) what a transformation… well done.”

But Molly was awarded 39 points instead of 40 after Anton decided to raise his 9 paddle instead of 10.

The score infuriated people watching at home, as one said: “What has Molly got to do to get 40???”
