STRICTLY star Jayde Adams has opened up on the pressures the female stars of the ballroom show face every Saturday night.

Comedian Jayde is a contestant on this year’s Strictly, paired with long-running pro Karen Hauer and the pair have been impressing the judges and BBC One viewers with their dancing skills.

Jayde has opened up on the scrutiny the female stars on the show face

She admitted that women are constantly judged over their figure

But the dancing hopeful has told Grazia in a new chat that the women on the show face scrutiny over body image each week that they take to the floor.

Speaking about the criticism she, Karen and the other female stars face, she said: “Women constantly get criticised for their figure, it dosen’t matter what body type you have. Me and Karen talk about exactly the same stuff but Karen’s got a completely different body to me.

“She still experiences the same sort of critique’s about her physique.”

She added: “All the women on the show do as well, every single one of us experience it on the internet, every Saturday night.”

Jayde defied what the trolls would say as she hit up the dancefloor for an iconic performance of a Cha Cha Cha to Irene Carr’s What A Feeling in an impressive get-up.

The star commented on how she processes trolling comments and revealed she tries to look past their negativity believing it to come from a place of a more deep-rooted issue.

The ballroom hopeful said: ‘The interesting thing about a troll is they are also people.

“I always see people and I see their trauma – being someone that’s been through quite a lot of it in my life.

“When people react negatively to me, and they’ve never met me before, I know it’s nothing to do with me.”

Elsewhere, the 37 year old from Bristol spoke of the behind the scenes antics she had gotten up to with her fellow cast mates.

The star spilled: “The other day me, Helen Skelton, Fleur East, Karen and a couple of people from production all had a Chinese feast, gin and tonics and got our nails done together.”

This week Jayde and Karen are set to dance to The Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It) by Victoria Wood to celebrate 100 years of the BBC.
