The pair have shut down rumours of a feud between professional dancers behind the scenes as fans speculated about the rift.

Nadiya and Kai hit back at rumours of a rift

Rumours of feuding has been spreading among fans of the BBC show

Strictly professional dancers Kai, 27, and Nadiya, 33, hit back that the team of celebrities and pros remain incredibly close backstage.

Nadiya told The Mirror: “It’s just really hard to see people go every week. I just wish that everyone could stay.

“It’s like a big family and this year, everyone is so nice and sweet to each other. I don’t know who will go next because everyone’s good.”

Kai – who crashed out the competition in week one with Kaye Adams – added: “You haven’t got time to focus on anyone else. You can only give the best yourself.”

It comes after a series of rumours that there has been ‘feuding’ between contestants, as well as with the judges.

Last night, head judge Shirley Ballas praised Matt Goss on Saturday’s Strictly amid ‘feud’ claims – but fans were not impressed.

Earlier this week, some Strictly viewers were convinced Shirley, 62, “didn’t like” Matt, 54, over her criticisms of his dances.

It comes off the back of other fans supposedly spotting off-screen drama between Shirley and Fleur East.

Fans were also certain that there was a secret feud going on between Giovanni Pernice and Richie Anderson on It Takes Two this month.

Richie was telling the host how happy he was with their high scores on Saturday night after a slow start in week one.

The pair – who danced together on the BBC competition – were separated during the show, while all the other celebrities sat side-by-side with their professional partners.

Despite being placed next to each other, two men were given their own armchairs, while Kaye Adams and Kai Widdrington had snuggled up on the sofa just minutes before.

The pair discussed their dance over the weekend – after scoring an incredible 32 points from the judges after a “long week”.

Fans felt something was off between the pair, suggesting that Giovanni looked “out of sorts” during their interview.

It comes after Giovanni was forced to deny the pair were not getting along behind the scenes last week.

Speaking on the spin off show IT Takes Two, Gio looked straight into the camera and said: “There is no problem between us, we are having a good time. Forget about what you’re writing, it’s not true.”

Richie Anderson has also spoken out amid talk it hasn’t clicked yet with partner – hitting back it was not true.

Richie shared a video of their first live performance, a Cha Cha Cha to I’m Your Man by Wham and said: “A moment I’ll never forget and so lucky I got to share it with Giovanni.

“Thank you Gio for being the best teacher over the past fortnight.”
