STRICTLY star Tony Adams hit back at head judge Shirely Ballas and told her to “go home” after he slammed her “unfair scores”.

The former Arsenal star, 56, did not hold back after he received the judges’ critique following his cha-cha to the Grandstand theme tune on Saturday night’s live show.

Strictly’s Tony Adams didn’t hold back as he slammed the ‘unfair’ scores

The football legend told head judge Shirley Ballas to ‘go home’

Shirley had some bolstering words and told him: “I love you dearly. Keep going because you’re what the show is all about.”

But after Shirely delivered a score of four, Tony seemed to lose his cool as he was heard yelling: “Shirley, go home.”

The pair received a total of 19 out of a possible 40 points.

Panellist Craig Revel Horwood was not impressed by the routine and scored it just three points.

Viewers were left in hysterics by Tony’s reaction and leaped on Twitter to comment.

One viewer wrote: “Did Tony shout ‘go home Shirley hahahaha f*****g summing up the feelings of the nation.”

Another posted: “Tony Adams telling Shirley to go home is the highlight of the night.”

Sharing a string of laughing emojis, one tweeted: “Tony telling Shirley to ‘go home’ after she scored him four.”

Another posted: “Just watched Tony Adams and his dance partner do BBC Grandstand’s theme on Strictly. Harsh scoring from Craig and Shirley (3 and 4 respectively). Amazing performance. They definitely should be advancing through, I loved it!!”

It comes after Tony and pro dancer Katya Jones proved they’ve put their backstage bust-up behind them.

The pals drew a line in the sand after Katya gave Tony a fierce telling off in his dressing room before last Saturday’s performance.

They showed their closeness in rehearsals as they sat together talking about dancing to Grandstand to celebrate 100 years of the BBC.

And Katya described Tony as “everyone’s hero” following their argument.

It was in reply to a message from an emotional Tony after getting his highest score of the series.

“I don’t think my family, friends and those reaching out with love know quite what it means to me,” he wrote.

“Mental health and addiction issues can lead to the darkest of places, and you keep saving my life. Every day.

“To all of you, that one was for you ?? Thank you for everyone’s continued support for both @katyajones and I. It means the world.”

The 56-year-old held “crisis” talks backstage last week after becoming overwhelmed by fear doing the dress rehearsal.

It led professional dancer Katya to deliver some “home truths” to the former footballer – ultimately helping him achieve his top scores of the series.

Giving fans an insight to their backstage row, Tony compared it to a telling off from his old Arsenal boss George Graham.

“The last time I’ve been told off like that was by George Graham and I left the dressing room,” he told Rylan.

“I said ‘that’s not for me anymore, I’m going’.”

He added: “Katya’s more attractive than George Graham, maybe that’s why I put up with it.”
