CALL of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for some players, and screenshots have been found of famous footballers as playable operators.

The single-player campaign for the latest Call of Duty is available to access early for those who pre-ordered the game.

A full release, including the game’s popular multiplayer mode, comes out tomorrow (October 28), and fans are eager to get online.

These are the images of the pair found by fans.

Call of Duty has featured real-life celebrities as playable operators in the past.

One of the most infamous additions to the game is Snoop Dogg, who is also available to play as in GTA Online.

However, this marks the first time that a footballer has been added into the series.

Screenshots featuring operators based on Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, and Juventus’ Paul Pogba have been found by those with early access.

The two players were rumoured to be in the game, after data miners found their names in a list of upcoming operators.

Lionel Messi’s name also appeared on the list, but he hasn’t been found in the game at the time of writing.

This doesn’t mean that the G.O.A.T. won’t be appearing in MW2 as part of the collaboration, but that his appearance is not confirmed at the time of writing.

Last year was a disappointing one for the Call of Duty series, as active player numbers fell to their lowest in almost 10 years.

The original reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the franchise’s most popular title to date.

Releasing the sequel to this beloved game, the year after Vanguard flopped, appears to be a good move by the developers.

Fans have already begun praising the single-player campaign, as one of the best in the series to date.

The multiplayer beta that took place in September, was similarly received positively by fans.

Neymar and Pogba will likely be purchasable as DLC operators once the multiplayer is released.

Though it’s possible that they will be able to be earned in-game.
