AS far as MMO shooters go, Destiny 2 is at the top of the mountain.

The latest update, available on all platforms, has fixed a lot of issues and rebalanced many of the game’s weapons, items, and abilities.

The Destiny 2 CAT error is stopping many people from playing.

Unfortunately, this update has also brought a big error, but fixing it is easier than you might think.

This comes at a noteworthy time for developers, Bungie, after it recently announced it would be filing a lawsuit against an abusive player.

Error code CAT is a common problem whenever a new update for Destiny 2 drops, but we’ll let you know how to fix it.

How to fix Destiny 2 error code CAT

If you’ve been playing Destiny 2 for a long time, you may have encountered this error before, and the fix is very simple.

This is what Destiny 2’s support page says about the error: “A new update to Destiny is available. If you are seeing this error the first time you launch Destiny, please exit the game and apply the update before relaunching.”

What this means is that your version of the game is out of date, and you need to update it.

If you’re on PlayStation or Xbox consoles, you can do this by closing the game, pressing the options/menu button on the Destiny 2 icon on your home screen and checking for updates.

If you’re playing on PC then head to your downloads tab on the Microsoft Store, or the game’s page on your Steam account and click the big button that says “update”.

Destiny 2 update 4.1.5 patch notes

While no new content is in the game, significant changes have been made all over the place.

Raids and dungeons like Duality have seen several tweaks. For example, the balance between armour and weapon rewards has been adjusted.

Elsewhere abilities like Celestial Fire have had their ignition keyword flyouts fixed, as they were not displaying correctly.

Additionally, airborne penalties have been reduced for all weapons, making airborne combat much more effective.

You can see the full patch notes on the official Bungie blog.
