FORTNITE Chapter 3 is here and there’s a ton of new content and features to get stuck into.
The Fortnite Island has flipped, meaning new POIs galore to explore including new buildings like The Daily Bugle.
New characters are also rolling out, along with new gameplay mechanics rumoured back in Chapter 2.
No doubt you’re keen to find out what new content awaits on the Island, so let’s get stuck in.
Fortnite Chapter 3 map
The new Fortnite Chapter 3 Island is home to a few biomes, including eastern tropics, a snowfield in the west, a baked canyon to the south.
POIs include Greasy Grove, and Logjam Lumberyard in the west, The Seven’s Sanctuary compound, and Daily Bugle in the east, and Condo Canyon, and Butter Barn to the south.
The southern part of the map is also home to Chonker’s Speedway where players can go off-road racing.
The Epic blog post also teases more secrets on the map to be revealed once the snow melts.

Fortnite Chapter 3 sliding, swinging, and crawling
New gameplay mechanics have been introduced with Chapter 3 designed to let you navigate across the map faster.
Sliding comes into play if you’re running downhill. You can also still shoot and build while doing so.
If you’re knocked out, you can now crawl to safety a lot faster. Even more handily, you can pick up items, access your inventory, and open Chests and doors while squirming around on the floor.
Swinging comes into play from 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm GMT Saturday, December 11. The Spider-Man web shooters will let you swing around the map to your heart’s content without civilians in peril ruining your fun.
Fortnite Chapter 3 skins
This season, you can unlock a whole new set of characters in the Fortnite Battle Pass.
- The “Lotus Walker” Shanta, unlocked immediately with the Battle Pass
- The wanderer Ronin
- The no-nonsense Lt. John Llama
- The flavor-synthetic but attitude-authentic Gumbo
- The optimistic outlaw Harlowe
- The Island-raised and Island-defending Haven
Later in the season, you can unlock Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s character — The Foundation, leader of The Seven.
We may see some variants of the Spidey suit as well as other characters from the Spider-Man universe headed to the Item Shop.
“And speaking of Spider-Man, look out for new Spideys (plus a few friends and foes) dropping into the Item Shop throughout the Season!” teases Epic.

A new batch of weapons awaits for a new Chapter:
- Ranger Assault Rifle
- MK-Seven Assault Rifle
- Striker Pump Shotgun
- Auto Shotgun
- Sidearm Pistol
- Stinger SMG
- Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper
Fortnite Chapter 3 new features
Other new additions to Chapter 3 include tents that can be used as a stash for your squad where you can also heal up.
If you place high enough in Battle Royale, you’ll earn a Victory Crown but you’ll need the guts to go with the glory.
Your shiny new hat makes you a target for players in your next match.
If you manage to finish with your crown still intact, you’ll get bonus XP, and if you win, you’ll unlock an exclusive emote.
And carrying on from Chapter 2, but hopefully better implemented, is the Accolades in Creative.
Play user-created maps to earn XP to put towards your Battle Pass — you’re not limited to Battle Royale for that anymore.
