HOGWARTS Legacy has been delayed for the fourth time since its initial release date of 2021.
The wizarding game based on the world of Harry Potter was originally set to release simultaneously on all platforms.
Hogwarts Legacy is delayed once more.
The game was set to release at the same time on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
However, after a number of delays, first to 2022 and then to February 10, 2023, it was announced that the release would be split.
While the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions released on this date, the launch on other platforms was delayed once again.
The release on last-generation platforms, the PS4 and Xbox One, was delayed until April 4, 2023.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch release was slated for an even later date, July 25, 2023.
The Nintendo Switch release date remains the same now, but the PS4 and Xbox One releases have been delayed once again.
Hogwarts Legacy’s official Twitter account released a statement regarding the latest delay.
It read: “We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the response to Hogwarts Legacy from fans around the globe.
“The team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms and we need more time to do this. Hogwarts Legacy will launch for PS4 and Xbox One May 5, 2023.”
It was later clarified in the comments that the Nintendo Switch release would not be affected.
In response to someone asking about the Switch release, the account said: “Hogwarts Legacy will be releasing on July 25, 2023 for Nintendo Switch.
“If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach back out.”
Despite the reassurance that the Nintendo Switch version will be released on time, it does not rule out the possibility that it will be delayed at a later date.
