LEAGUE of Legends 2023 preseason is starting with big changes for the coming year.

The beta for these changes was released last month, but now they have been tested and are fully in place.

The next season is about to start.

One part of the map is getting a complete overhaul, and new systems will make the game a far more welcoming place.

For all the biggest changes coming to League of Legends, check out our guide below:

Chemtech is returning to League of Legends

Mixing alchemy and machinery, Chemtech is one of the focuses of the coming season.

Chemtech Drake is making a comeback with big improvements to encourage aggressive play.

Killing Chemtech Drake will reward your team with 5% Tenacity and 5% Heal and Shield power.

You’ll also receive the Chemtech Soul, which will make you 10% more resistant to damage and deal 10% more damage when you’re below half health.

The Jungle in League of Legends is changing

Almost everything you see and do in the jungle is seeing a complete overhaul.

Camps are becoming more durable, making them more of an investment for laners. Krugs will become less durable, though, as two have been removed.

Monsters will generally give less gold and experience, with these rewards instead distributed via items.

There are also companions in the jungle now. The Mosstomper will boost your shield and make you more of a tank with each monster you kill.

The Scorchclaw will accumulate Ember as you attack and kill monsters, and the Gustwalker will build speed buffs and you cut your way through the jungle.

League of Legends changes the Top Lane

Those who like to play in the top lane will be given better scaling to encourage this play.

Both top and middle lanes are getting an XP boost, and the bottom lane will get an XP nerf.

The mid lane will also make a little less gold, making the top lane even more powerful.

Champion changes in League of Legends

Three champions have been buffed in this patch, including Cho’Gath, Lillia, and Nunu.

Cho’Gath has had their R damage increased in order to keep it competitive with the buff coming to Smite.

Lillia has been changed from a ranged to a melee character, with a decrease in base health, but an increase in health growth and passive healing.

Finally, Nunu has had his Q damage increased against non-champions.

Auto-mod overhaul in League of Legends

League of Legends has a reputation as being a toxic space in gaming, and the new update hopes to combat this.

Foul and abusive language will be detected more easily, and penalties dealt faster.

The team has also claims that it will be able to “identify the nuance between more egregious chat and less-severe, but still inappropriate, chat.”.
