FOLLOWING a number of technical issues, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will have their first major bug fixes from today (December 1).

Patch 1.1.0 is ready to roll out, and it will fix a number of the technical issues which have been hampering fans’ enjoyment of the latest Pokémon games.

Did someone say bugs?

The biggest fix will be to the E4 and Champion fights at the end of the Victory Road storyline.

Most players encountered a glitch that played the first three seconds of the battle music on repeat.

This was very annoying, as there are five long and difficult fights that were affected by the bug.

The first season of ranked matches will begin, allowing competitive players to test their skills.

This also means that the first season of the game’s meta will be introduced, where players decide what the strongest Pokémon and teams are.

The Pokémon Company has promised a number of other bug fixes, though it hasn’t elaborated on what these are yet.

Usually, the team focuses on bugs that allow players to cheat the game, such as the popular item duplication glitch.

The glitch that allows you to change the date and time will likely remain, as it is still in Pokémon Sword and Shield three years after launch.

The team apologised for the technical issues in the notes for the latest patch.

It reads: “We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance.

“Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

“We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.”

The full patch notes read as follows:

Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.

Please check the in-game notice for more details about Ranked Battles Season 1.

An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.

Other select bug fixes have been made.

The 1.1.0 patch will be released today, players can select to update the game from the Switch home screen, if it does not do so automatically.
