POKÉMON Scarlet & Violet will have a new seven-star raid guide starting this week.

Samurott is the latest target, representing Generation 5 in the line-up of starter raids.

Walking Wake is a good match.

It is the second starter from Pokémon Legends: Arceus that will appear in raids in a row.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Samurott seven-star raid.

Pokémon SV: Samurott raid guide

The next seven-star raid takes place from March 31 to April 2, and again from April 7 to April 9.

Samurott is Water-type with a wide move pool, making it a little difficult to counter.

It will have a Bug tera type, meaning it has a number of weaknesses; however, many of these are weak to water.

Samurott can also learn Focus Energy and a number of high crit moves to devastate your Pokémon.

Here’s the set we predict for Samurott:

The Unrivaled Samurott – Level 100

  • Nature – Impish
  • Ability – Shell Armor
  • Item – None
  • Tera type – Bug
  • Potential moveset – Focus Energy, Megahorn, Aqua Cutter, Night Slash, Slash, Sacred Sword, Sword Dance, Screech

Pokémon SV: Samurott counters

While there are a number of Pokémon that resist Samurott’s attacks, there is a concern over its critical hit rate.

Here are the Pokémon we recommend.

Perrserker

Perrserker comes with the ability Battle Armor meaning that it can’t be crit.

It also has a number of excellent support moves that can help out if you’re working in a team.

Perrserker should be able to stay on the field for a long time helping out its teammates.

Here’s the set we recommend:

Perrserker – Level 100

  • Nature – Impish
  • Ability – Battle Armor
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Water
  • Potential moveset – Charm, Screech, Taunt, Crunch, Swords Dance, Iron Defense

Corviknight

Corviknight has a great defensive ability, and its Mirror Armor ability can negate any stat drops.

It also has strong flying-type moves that can be used against the Bug-type Samurott.

It can also use Bulk Up to boost its defense as long as Samurott doesn’t always use high crit moves.

Here’s the recommended set.

Corviknight – Level 100

  • Nature – Impish
  • Ability – Mirror Armor
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Flying
  • Potential moveset – Taunt, Bulk Up, Reflect, Drill Peck, Iron Defense

Gyarados

Gyarados’ Intimidate means that it will drop Samurott’s attack every time it comes into battle.

It’s a great typing for this fight, but unfortunately doesn’t have a strong move until it terastylizes.

If you are battling alone, then you can use the ability Moxie and attack your allies to get the boosts you need. This will also heal you.

Here’s what we recommend:

Gyarados – Level 100

  • Nature – Impish
  • Ability – Intimidate / Moxie
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Flying
  • Potential moveset – Dragon Dance, Tera Blast, Waterfall, Thunder Wave

Walking Wake

This is another ‘mon with a great defensive type against Samurott, and good attacks to back it up.

As a Paradox Pokémon, it has higher stats than most Pokémon, and can even use sun-boosted Flamethrower.

Hydro Steam’s power will also be boosted by the sun, alongside its stats.

Here’s what we recommend:

Walking Wake – Level 100

  • Nature – Bold
  • Ability – Protosynthesis
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Water
  • Potential moveset – Sunny Day, Hydro Steam, Flamethrower, Breaking Swipe, Noble Roar
