SILENT Hill’s Transmission showcase revealed four new games coming to Silent Hill, reviving the long-dormant franchise.

The last Silent Hill game to be released was P.T., a playable teaser directed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro in 2014.

Silent Hill: Townfall was one of the games announced.

This game was later cancelled, and we didn’t hear of a new Silent Hill game in development for the next eight years.

Here is the rundown of all four games announced in the Silent Hill showcase:

Silent Hill 2 remake confirmed

Rumours have surrounded a Silent Hill 2 remake for years, but this is the first time it’s been officially announced.

Developed by the Bloober Team with help from Silent Hill veterans, composer Akira Yamaoka, and artist Masahiro Ito.

The game has been remade from the ground up, but we do not know if the story will differ from the 2001 original.

Lots of footage was shown for this one from the new over-the-shoulder perspective, and everything so far seems promising.

It will release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam to begin with, but is not confirmed to remain exclusive.

Silent Hill short stories in Silent Hill: Townfall

The rumoured series of short stories being made with the help of publisher Annapurna Interactive was also confirmed.

Called Silent Hill: Townfall we saw a glimpse of one of the stories about someone being held captive.

The stories will all take place in the world of Silent Hill, but is still in early development.

Silent Hill: Ascension — a narrative adventure

One game that we didn’t know about before the showcase – aside from the name – is Silent Hill: Ascension.

This is a choices matter narrative game made in the Silent Hill canon.

Your choice will supposedly have lasting consequences in this one, so we’re hoping for multiple endings.

Silent Hill f

When we first saw the name Silent Hill f, we weren’t sure if it was a game or simply a typo, but the trailer for this game quickly became a fan favourite.

Set in Japan, this follows more traditional Japanese body horror as we see a girl taken by red vines and flowers burst out of each pore.

This is another game in early development, but fans were very impressed by the trailer.
