The Witcher 3 next-gen update release times: How to play Wild Hunt ASAP

OFTEN called one of the best games of all time, The Witcher 3’s next-gen update is finally upon us.

It’s one of the most celebrated games of the last console generation, and is now coming to modern consoles.

Here’s the full timings.

Even better, the upgrade is free for those who own the original and comes with a host of new features, upgrades and quests.

The Witcher 3’s update releases very soon; here’s what time you can access it, depending on your console and timezone.

The Witcher 3 next-gen update: PS5 release times

The PlayStation 5 has a different release time compared to Xbox and PC, as it will not receive a simultaneous global release but a so-called staggered launch.

This means wherever you live in the world, the update will become available on December 14, 2022 at 12am local time.

The other platforms will receive a global launch so it will differ depending on your time zone.

A global launch means that it will be released at the same time around the world.

This means that people in the western hemisphere will receive it in the late afternoon/evening of December 13, while those in the eastern hemisphere will see the update unlock in the morning hours on December 14.

You won’t be able to download the update in advance, but in most regions Xbox players will be getting it earlier than on PS5, as it will unlock at the times listed below:

December 13

  • 4pm PST (Western US)
  • 6pm CST (Central US)
  • 7pm EST (Eastern US)

December 14

  • 12am GMT (UK time)
  • 1am CET (Central Europe)
  • 9am JST (Japan time)
  • 11am AEDT (Eastern Australia)
  • 1pm NZDT (New Zealand)

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update brings fluid 60fps visuals to consoles for the first time.

It will also give you the option of playing at a lower framerate with ray tracing features.

However you like to play, the free update will be available for everyone this week.
