Ben Shephard dodged questions about him being the Badger

Lorraine brought it up on Friday’s Good Morning Britain in a preview for her show.

She said: “There are rumours though, Ben, that you are Badger. A lot of people have been saying that online. Can you reveal or not?”

Ben, looking coy, said: “Tell me about the Badger, what are his traits?”

Lorraine joked: “He’s very, very, very good looking underneath that and he’s got a calendar and a blanket.”

Kate was much more dismissive, adding: “He’s a very good singer and dancer so that counts Ben out, doesn’t it?”

Ben continued to dodge the questions as he said: “I can neither confirm nor deny that I am or am not the Badger, I am a fan of badgers as things go. Who doesn’t love a badger?”

The Badger soared through to the next round with his rendition of I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith on Saturday.

However, some of the clues would hint against it being Ben, as he’s revealed he is “used to being anonymous” .

He also said: “There’s been times I could have been on the street surrounded by people but no one would have any idea it’s me.”

The judges have so far guessed the Badger could be The Stig, actor Andy Serkis – who played Gollum in Lord of the Rings – and Hairy Biker Dave Myers.
