THE Masked Dancer fans have unearthed a wild theory that recently departed MP Liz Truss could actually be one of the characters on the show.
The ITV favourite is approaching the final this weekend and some speculative fans have gone as far as to guess that Liz, who resigned today, is actually Scissors on the show.
On Twitter, fans of the bonkers quiz show have aired their reasons why they believe the politician is the one behind the crazy costume.
One fan explained the reasonings behind their adventurous theory.
Writing before she left her position, they said: “Has #LizTruss forgotten she is Prime Minister? Where the hell is she? Scissors on #Maskeddancer has been described as ‘not the sharpest tool in the box’ and also all those tax CUTS for the super-rich!”
Another fan pointed out that the character itself was a clue as to which celebrity was hiding underneath the mask.
They wrote, tagging show judge Davina McCall: “@ThisisDavina Scissors is @trussliz, the Tories are used to cutting things #MaskedDancer”
Liz resigned from her post in office today after serving just 44 days amid a series of blunders.
It sets her on course to be the shortest serving Prime Minister in history with a new race for her replacement now on.
The embattled PM made a solemn speech outside Downing Street this afternoon confirming the astonishing turn of events.
Card carrying Conservatives are expected to have a say in who gets the keys to No10, alongside Tory MPs.
Standing outside No10 this afternoon, Ms Truss said: “I came into office at a time of great economic and international instability. Families and businesses were worried about how to pay their bills. Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine threatens the security of our whole continent.
“I was elected by the Conservative Party with a mandate to change this.
“I recognise though, given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative Party.
“I have therefore spoken to His Majesty The King to notify him that I am resigning as Leader of the Conservative Party.”
Only time will tell if Liz really is behind the mask.
