RITA Ora’s future on The Masked Singer appears to be hanging in the balance after she bagged herself a big movie role.
The star, 32, admitted that she ‘doesn’t know what’s going to happen’ with the ITV2 show as she prepares to film The Pocketwatch.
Rita has joined the cast of the Disney+ flick, which is a musical sequel to The Descendants, and is due to start shooting next month.
But speaking to GQ, the Masked Singer judge appeared unsure about whether she can juggle both jobs – plus other new work commitments.
“…it felt like a good idea to sit alongside Jonathan [Ross], who I’ve loved since day one, Davina [McCall], who’s my TV icon, and Mo [Gilligan], who I met during the show” she told the magazine when asked why she joined the show.
“It makes your job so much easier when you love the people around you.
“I don’t want to walk away from that family right now, but you never know what’s going to happen.”
Rita and her fellow panelists returned for another series of The Masked Singer on New Year’s Day.
The Hot Right Now songstress has been on the judging panel since the popular ITV1 show first premiered in January 2020 and is loved by fans.
This year’s series is still airing on-screens, having been recorded in October, but Rita is very much focused on her new beginnings.
In November, it was confirmed she had joined the cast of The Pocketwatch alongside US singer and actress Brandy.
Rita has been cast as the Queen Of Hearts, which Deadline states “rules over the kingdom of Wonderland with an iron fist”.
But in addition to her new Disney+ commitment, Rita has also been offered further work opportunities – adding further doubt on her Masked Singer future.
“I was just reading [the Pocketwatch script] the other day and a couple of other things have come in too,” she added to GQ. “I definitely want to do it all.”
