THE Masked Dancer’s Prawn has broken their silence after being booted off the show on Saturday.
The character found themselves in the bottom two with Scissors after the studio audience had voted, and the four Masked Dancer judges got a shock when Stacey Dooley revealed their identity.
Stacey, who is currently expecting her first baby with Strictly’s Kevin Clifton, has since broken her silence.
The star took to social media to share a snap of herself tucking into a bag of prawn cocktail crisps in a nod to her show character.
She penned: “A dancing, preggo prawn. You’re WELCOME.
“The choreographers were such sweethearts, and the entire crew BTS. Ta so much.
“So fun! (Also, so sorry to my gorgeous runner, I just know my dressing room must’ve stunk of 1st trimester sickness.”
Commenting on Stacey’s post, Laura Whitmore penned: “My favourite flavour!!!”
Oti Mabuse added: “You were brilliant,” and another person shared: “you were amazing Stace
Prawn cocktail is my fave.”
Despite their incredible performances, the panel decided to send Prawn Cocktail home, before finding out who was behind the mask.
Speaking about why she signed up for the show, Stacey said: “Do you know I had the time of my life, I just wanted to pretend to be a daft, drunk, annoying aunt.”
Davina McCall asked about the fitness-based routine but Stacey said: “I’m not fit at all, I just threw that in to throw you off.”
The presenter and documentary maker was then asked why she had chosen Prawn Cocktail.
She said: “I wanted to be something really daft, I didn’t want to be anything sexy or girly.”
The panel also asked if her boyfriend, former Strictly pro Kevin Clifton, knew and she said he did.
But when asked if he had helped her with her moves, Stacey – who met Kevin on the BBC dancing show when they were paired together – joked: “No he won’t dance unless he’s being paid.”
She concluded: “It’s been a scream, a total, total scream.”
