THE Masked Singer fans are convinced the beady-eyed mask of Rhino disguises a boyband favourite.
Fans have already speculated the tusked animal is a former X Factor winner.
After Saturday’s performance wrapped, some are now insisting it’s a Year 3000 chart-topper from Busted.
In particular, Masked Singer fans think Charlie Simpson, 37, – who later left the band to start group Fightstar – is the hidden performer.
Rhino took to the stage to perform Snow Patrol’s song Chasing Cars.
Fans took to Twitter to air their opinions, with one insisting: “I’ve never been so sure about a #maskedsinger guess. Rhino is Charlie Simpson.”
Another put: “I reckon Rhino is Charlie Simpson from Busted. #maskedsinger.”
A third wrote: “I have listened to enough Busted over the years to say with reasonable confidence that Rhino is Charlie Simpson #maskedsinger,” while another gushed: “I am probably too confident that Rhino is Charlie from Busted. #MaskedSinger.”
One then confessed: “I was in love with him as a teen and am in love with him as a rhino in sparkly cowboy boots – rhino is 100% charlie simpson from busted #maskedsinger
@CharlieSimpson.”
Another surmised: “Rhino is Charlie Simpson from Busted. I’m so confident about this that I signed into Twitter to post this. #MaskedSinger.”
Yet with X Factor star James Arthur’s name in the frame, the identity is not a done deal.
Others think that James, 34, who won the singing competition in 2012, is pretending to be the animal character.
On Saturday, Piece of Cake was revealed as legendary singer Lulu.
The was the 74-year-old was the second celebrity voted out of the ITV competition.
