WIDESPREAD snow has caused chaos across England this morning, forcing schools, roads and airports to close due to bad weather.

School kids up and down the country have been told to stay at home due to the snow – with pupils in Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire and East Sussex worst affected.

Several schools have shut completely this morning – while others are expected to have later starts.

Drivers on the M25 were stranded for several hours due to the UK’s busiest motorway being closed in both directions between Junction 23 for South Mimms and Junction 25 for Waltham Cross, both in Hertfordshire.

And forecasters believe things will only get worse with the mercury set to plunge to -10C in the coming days.
