X Factor: Celebrity fans were delighted as Megan McKenna was crowned the winner during tonights competition.

The reality star broke down in tears after she beat off competition from Jenny Ryan and Max & Harvey to win a record contract.

Megan McKenna was gobsmacked as she was announced the winner of X Factor: Celebrity

Those watching at home felt her win was hugely deserved and took to Twitter to comment on it.

One person wrote: “Never in doubt @Megan_Mckenna_ such a great singer winner of #XFactorCelebrity.”

A second added: “Yes @Megan_Mckenna_ truly deserved #XFactorCelebrity.”

While a third tweeted: “@Megan_Mckenna_ absolutely amazing and well deserved winner I cry at all your performances Congratulations Megan #XFactorCelebrity #XFactorCelebrityfinal.”

During tonight’s show they each performed a Christmas song in an attempt to avoid being the first act eliminated from the live final.

V5 sung All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey from atop a podium as confetti rained down.

Max and Harvey sang Last Christmas by Wham! while Jenny Ryan performed Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, memorably sung by Judy Garland.

Megan McKenna took on One More Sleep by X Factor winner Leona Lewis.

Girl group V5 were eliminated from the X Factor: Celebrity final in the first public vote of the night.

The remaining three then performed their favourite track of the series so far, so Megan performed her original song This once again.

The Chase star Jenny treated viewers to her incredible rendition of Edge Of Glory and Max & Harvey sang Kiss You.

The finale also featured a special performance by The Pussycat Dolls to mark their comeback, 10 years after they split.

X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger was joined by Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta for a risque medley of their hits against a backdrop of flames.

Smoke guns fired and lasers lit up the stage as they danced to Buttons, When I Grow Up and Don’t Cha, before being joined by a troupe of male back-up dancers.

Fifteen acts from the worlds of music, film, sport, television and social media competed for a place in the final and a recording contract.

Footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones, journalist Martin Bashir and a group of Love Islanders were among those tested in either the audition or live rounds.

X Factor 11 Compilation
