X Factor: Celebrity viewers slammed the show as a “fix” as Martin Bashir and No Love Lost are eliminated from the competition.

Love Island group No Love Lost and V5 were forced to battle it out in the sing off, with BBC reporter Martin Bashir being axed immediately for getting the lowest amount of public votes.

No Love Lost didn’t get through to next week – but there’s still hope

Martin said when he was eliminated: “I’m 57, I never would have tried something like this. I’m thankful to Simon, Nicole, and a little bit less to Louis”

Both of the bottom acts were Simon’s, with V5 singing a Motivation/I Like it mash up and No Love Lost performing their original song Money Where Your Mouth Is.

Louis and Nicole voted for V5 instead of the Love Island band

Louis Walsh said: “Dermot honestly, this is one of the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make on X Factor ever,” before voting to send No Love Lost home.

Nicole said: “But for me I have to go with the group that I loved every week so consistently,” saving V5.

V5 managed to really impress the judges

However, some fans have labelled the show a “fix” – especially as No Love Lost was a fan favourite.

One person wrote: “What a shame No Love Lost has gone home. What a fix… #XFactorCelebrity”

Another added: “X factor you are a fix!!!!”

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell changing the rules so the most popular eliminated act can get in the final angered people, with one person writing: “#SimonCowell changing the rules again to suit himself and try and fix it for his favourite act to get through Thats me done with this bloody #FixFactor #XFactorCelebrity”

Acts Jenny Ryan, Megan McKenna and Try Star were saved by the public.

Love Lost looked upset when they were told they were in the sing-off
V5 apprehensive about having to sing against the Love Island band

The first three acts to play were saved by the judges in this week’s episode.

Louis Walsh gave his safety to Kevin McHale, who impressed him with a rendition of Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa.

Max and Harvey’s Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore was enough to get Simon Cowell to save them.

Meanwhile, Vinnie Jones’ mashup of It Must Be Love, House of Fun, and One Step Beyond got Nicole Scherzinger to save him.
