DRACONIAN measures which mean entire school classes have to isolate if one child gets Covid-19 could be ditched, Sajid Javid hinted last night.

The new Health Secretary has ordered officials to look again at the policy in a bid to keep millions in school.

A staggering 250,000 pupils in England missed class last week because of the rules.

Instead, pupils who have been pinged because of a classmate may take a daily Covid test to clear them for school.

Mr Javid said: ā€œThis is a very important issue and something Iā€™ve focused on, on day one of the job.

“That is why Iā€™ve asked for fresh advice on this.ā€
