CORONATION Street star Adam Hussain revealed his first romance storyline for his character Aadi Alahan.

Viewers of the ITV soap have seen Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) spark a new love interest in Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby).

Adam Hussain talked about his future romance storyline

His feelings will be explored over the next few weeks.

Aadi is usually ridiculed for his lack of experience with girls- but is his luck beginning to change?

Adam told Digital Spy: “I’d say Aadi is interested in Summer, yeah!

“He’s gone through those teenage puberty years and now he’s focusing his attention on girls, so he’s definitely interested in a romance with someone.

Summer has caught Aadi’s attention

“Summer has certainly caught his attention. I reckon they could be a good couple because they’re both smart, sweet and innocent.

“Well, Summer is! Aadi can have a laugh and be a bit mischievous sometimes.

“But when it comes down to it, he’s just an innocent young boy who has developed feelings for a girl.”

Talking about playing Aadi for a year now, Adam shared: “It’s been an experience! I’ve learned a lot. I’ve been able to grow as an actor and as a person as well.

Adam talked about how he has grown on the soap

“I found it a little bit nervous and awkward coming in after replacing someone who had been on the show for so long.

“But after a while, the audience grew to me and I grew more into it as well.”

He added: “I’ve not really done much comedy before Corrie. It was just mainly roles in drama and theatre.

“But in Aadi’s scenes with his family, it’s good to play around and bring a bit of light-heartedness into some dark, serious situations. It’s a good laugh.”

Adam has grown close to the young cast members such as on-screen sister Tanisha

Adam has settled in well with the young cast members as he admitted: “Myself, Tanisha, Harriet, Max, Millie Gibson (Kelly) and Elle Mulvaney (Amy), we’re all great friends. It’s like school for us!

“We come in, we socialise and we get along. We do meet up every now and again outside of work. We go bowling or go-karting, now that we’re allowed to. We’re like a little family.”

Teasing what’s next for Aadi, Adam revealed: “I’d love to have an issue-based storyline! Ultimately, there is definitely a storyline coming that could involve Aadi’s romance with someone.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV or stream on ITV Hub.
