CLAIRE Sweeney revealed she was forced to make a last minute change to her latest Dancing on Ice routine after suffering a painful injury.
During Sunday night’s episode of Dancing on Ice, soap queen Claire, 52, told how she’d hurt her ribs in rehearsals.
She said: “So I’ve had a niggling problem with my rib all week. The physio checked me out this morning and she said it’s a sprained rib.
“Because of the rib injury we’ve had to make a last minute change to the routine.”
Defiant Claire added: “I will definitely be on tonight, nothing’s stopping me.”
But Coronation Street star Claire had a surprise up her sleeve while performing a Burlesque-inspired routine and showed of her vocals skills belting out Shirley Bassey’s Big Spender.
Impressed fans took to social media afterwards, with one writing: “It’s sad about Claire’s rib injury, you could tell she was being really careful. Her singing was great.”
Another said: “Claire sounded good!” And a third added: “Claire Sweeney singing AND dancing to Big Spender?”
It’s also been a tough time for Claire’s pro partner Colin Grafton.
We previously revealed he was left in tears just hours before he headed onto the rink after a very emotional call with his family.
Colin’s father, Roy, had an unexpected stroke on Wednesday January 10th – leaving his family, who live in Boston – completely shocked.
A source close to Colin said: “At first, Colin wanted to get on a flight right away and be there for his family.
“But he knew his dad would want him to do the show, and Claire has incredibly supportive to him – she has been his rock.”
