EASTENDERS star Steve McFadden has been spotted going for a bike ride as production on the the beloved soap is on hold.
Steve, 61, wore a black face mask to protect himself from coronavirus and blue Adidas tracksuits as he leisurely rode around on the sunny day.
The Eastenders hard man also coordinated his protective gloves with his gray riding jacket which featured a lime green zip and detail.
The actor who loves getting about on his bike was enjoying an extended break from the BBC soap due to the coronavirus pandemic and the government mandated lockdown.
Steve has played Phil Mitchell on Eastenders since 1990 who might try to get his hands back on the iconic Queen Vic pub in an attempt to win back his former love, Sharon.
Current owners Mick and Linda are selling due to Linda’s alcoholism making it too difficult for her to remain there.
Phil told Shirley: “I’m hoping to get back with Sharon if I can put the past behind us.
“It’s what I want, what I need really. That and sorting Ben out. I need to get my family back together.”
Shirley told him: “Well if Sharon’s what you’re after then I have it on very good authority that the Vic’s going to be up for sale. And Sharon, well, she loves that place.”
But things turned sinister when Phil – a former alcoholic – turned up to the same support group as Linda.
Linda pleaded for him to attend a different one as she didn’t feel comfortable sharing her story in front of him.
Phil offered Linda’s husband Mick an ultimatum – he will attend a different meeting if the Carters sell him the Queen Vic.
The bar woman was left horrified by the suggestion and resulted in Phil sharing some home truths about her alcohol problem.
But in last night’s episode, it seems that the pair put all their hard work down the drain when Linda finds an unopened bottle of whiskey in Phil’s cupboard.
The pair then break their sobriety which could have devastating consequences for them both.
The pub at the centre of the pair’s problems has been upgraded as work on the £87million Albert Square set continues.
The BBC One soap is building an entire new set at Elstree Studios, opposite the current one used on screen, but viewers will have to wait until around 2023 to see the residents of Albert Square in the pub.
