Ant and Dec will be returning to our screens in Our DNA Journey for Winter 2021

There will also be the return of their genealogy show which first aired back in November 2019.

This time it will focus on a handful of celebrities as they embark on an emotional journey as they learn about their family history.

With the help of expert genealogist and historians and state of the art technology, the stars will be able to find out who is behind their DNA.

Along the way they will be shocked about secrets their families have kept over the years, as well as meeting relatives they didn’t even know existed.

Our DNA Journey is due to return to our screens with a brand new series following the stories of three different celebs

The pair got very emotional during their DNA journeys last years two-part special

Ant and Dec, who are also about to present the 20th series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, will be their “shoulder to cry on” as the unnamed celebrities jump into a once in a life time experience to explore their roots.

Speaking about the exciting new TV that is due to air during the Christmas period and over the new year, Managing Director of Media and Entertainment at ITV, Kevin Lygo said: “Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is back and after finding their DNA journey last year, there will be three more of these programmes.

“This time with different celebrities who will delve into their pasts.”

Last year they travelled to the US and Ireland for their two-part special to enable them to find out more about themselves.

They too met relatives they had no clue existed, and were left emotional by some secrets held by their families.

Talking about his experience on the show, Ant said: “I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to historical events, so to get the chance to research our family history using our DNA was too good an opportunity to pass up.

“What we find out is mind-blowing and nothing either of us could ever have imagined. It’s something that will stay with us both forever.”

Dec added: “A huge part of this was to find out my heritage, especially on my dad’s side.

“I always thought I knew a fair bit about where I came from but it turns out I was wrong!

“Whilst it was incredible to find out about the past, what was hugely overwhelming was to meet relatives neither of us knew we had. It was a truly amazing experience.”
