Tension brewing among I’m A Celebrity campmates
Last night’s I’m A Celebrity Coming Out showed the camp mates’ reunions, but according to a body language expert, tensions were brewing as old feuds looked set to reignite. Judi James observed how Nigel Farage received a “frosty” reception from some of his jungle pals, including First Dates star Fred Sirieix. The GB News host, 59, and the Frenchman, 51, clashed in camp, usually over their opposing political views and Brexit.
Nigel’s daughter takes sides
In addition to the tension between Nigel Farage and Fred Sirieix, Nigel’s daughter, Isabelle, seemed to have Fred’s measure according to Judi. As Fred used strong eye contact and spoke to her with his hands splayed in a gesture of explanation and possible apology, she folded her arms firmly to suggest she wasn’t moved by Fred’s brand of TV charm and was definitely ‘Team Nigel’.
Awkward reunions and virtual fights
As Nigel came face-to-face with his campmates after finishing third, there was a distinctly frosty-looking ‘welcome’ from some, with only two appearing to rush to greet him. The others ignored him in the background, with Fred looking spectacularly grim-faced. The tension between Nigel and Fred escalated when they disagreed on who would win the jungle crown. Nigel approached Fred with the kind of stare that suggested the real fight had only just begun. Nigel looked like the one most up to prove himself, pointing an index finger at Fred in a signal of mimed attack. Danielle quickly held both hands out in a calming gesture and the others called out ‘Alright, Nigel!’ to keep it friendly.
Nigel’s seeking praise while Laure seeks affection
During their meet-up, Nigel appeared to seek “positive feedback” from girlfriend Laure after finishing in the top three. Laure tried to show affection towards Nigel, but he treated their interaction more like a political briefing. Back at the hotel, there was a glimpse of romance as Nigel and Laure held hands, but Nigel kept his eye on the camera or his beer while Laure watched him indulgently.
