Former I’m A Celebrity contestant Sam Thompson has admitted that he’s struggling without his jungle bestie, Tony Bellew. The reality TV star, who won the title after spending three weeks in the Australian jungle, has been settling back into life at home in London with his girlfriend Zara McDermott, but it seems that he’s already missing his bond with boxer Tony Bellew.
First voice note for Tony
Sam Thompson recently sent his boxer pal, Tony Bellew, his first ever voice note since leaving the jungle. In a video shared on Instagram by Zara McDermott, Sam can be seen pacing up and down the corridor of their home as he records the voice note. Zara can be heard laughing in the background as she captioned the clip: “Sam recording his first voice note for Tony.”
Reunion plans
In the voice note, Sam tells Tony that he slept really well and doesn’t expect a voice note in response, suggesting that Tony can text instead. However, he does mention that he’ll be coming up to Liverpool to see him soon. Sam later re-shared the clip on his own account, expressing curiosity about whether Tony will reply.
An unexpected bromance
Sam and Tony developed a strong bond during their time in the jungle. Tony found humor in dealing with Sam’s enthusiasm and excitable nature, and their friendship became a highlight of the show. Sam is likely looking forward to reuniting with his girlfriend Zara, who couldn’t join him in Australia due to travel restrictions. Zara supported him from home and even threw him a lavish finale viewing party.
A warm welcome home
Instead of Zara, Sam’s close friend Pete Wicks from The Only Way is Essex welcomed him back. Pete flew to Australia and was there to greet Sam at the end of the famous jungle bridge. Zara shared the heartwarming reunion clip on her Instagram.
