VisitEngland, the national tourist board for England, has recently announced the country’s best holiday park, and it’s located in the picturesque Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The Quiet Site has been crowned the winner in the Awards for Excellence following its impressive features and facilities.
The Quiet Site: From Camping Field to Award-Winning Holiday Park
The Quiet Site has been welcoming guests since 1963, but it has undergone significant transformations to become an award-winning sustainable holiday park. The site offers a range of accommodation options, including luxury glamping cabins, carbon-positive gingerbread houses, underground glamping burrows, and self-catering cottages. There are also all-weather tent pitches and hard-standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes.
Facilities and Local Attractions
Apart from a variety of accommodation options, The Quiet Site boasts impressive onsite facilities. Its family shower rooms and pizzeria and creperie received positive reviews, and The Quiet Bar has been dubbed “the best bar in Britain.” Children can play in a separate playroom adjacent to the bar. The site also has a dog, boot, and bike washroom, a book exchange library, and a laundry room. Nearby attractions include Lowther Castle & Gardens and Aira Force Waterfalls.

Upcoming UK Holiday Parks
The UK market is up for some exciting new holiday park additions. Hollybush Lakes Holiday Park in Hampshire boasts “floating” lodges, water sports facilities, and a restaurant, and it is now approved. Another UK holiday park is also in the works: Rhydycar West in Wales will feature a tropical waterpark, the UK’s largest and longest indoor snow centre, and an adventure centre, with plans soon to be submitted to the council.
