LOVE Island’s Elom Ahlijah-Wilson made an awkward blunder in a new interview – leaving Catherine Agbaje fuming.

Elom, 22, revealed he “doesn’t want a girlfriend”, just days after being booted from the ITV2 dating show with Catherine, also 22.

Catherine Agbaje was left visibly fuming

When asked if he was “looking for a relationship” on the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast, the personal trainer dug himself quite the hole.

He replied, “Do you know what it is, like…” before the pair erupted into laughter and Catherine asked, “Is that a no?”

Elom continued, “Currently, I want to focus on myself. Coming out of the villa is like a thing where there’s obviously a lot of light on both of us innit and we both need to focus on ourselves.

“So I feel like, if we both focus on ourselves, in due time, we’re still talking to each other, we’re still bonding at the same time.

“In due time, we’re going to get to that stage. Do you understand? Does that make sense?”

When Catherine was asked if she wants a man who’s ready for her, she said, “I went into Love Island because, you know, I do feel like I’m ready for relationship.

“I’m ready to settle, I don’t want to build someone, kind of thing. And I’ve always kind of said that.”

Before getting the boot, Catherine and Elom clashed after he told her that he would get to know a bombshell if they were his type.

Last week, the duo joined Maya Jama on Aftersun and opened up about their relationship since leaving the villa.

The host asked: “From the outside it looked like everything was going well between you and Catherine and then out of nowhere you’re like ‘if there’s bombshells, I want to get to know them’.

“Where did that come from because there wasn’t even a bombshell”

The audience responded with boos but Elom tried to explain and said: “On the outside world I’m the type of person when things are going well, I tend to sabotage things. I think too much into the future and I’m not in the moment.”

While Catherine responded with the phrase ‘side-eye’, before Elom continued to justify himself.

He went on: “Being in the villa made me realise that I’ve got to enjoy the moment and being with Catherine made me enjoy the moment as well.”

Catherine added: “We’ve literally been out for two days and even the first day wasn’t a day because we got back in the evening.”
