DR Alex George said he sobbed over a sweet NHS thank-you card from a little girl as he admitted he feels lonely in self isolation without girlfriend Amelia.
The Love Island star has been working in A&E in London throughout the coronavirus outbreak and is living separately from Amelia to protect her from catching COVID-19.

He updated fans on his wellbeing on his Instagram Story last night as he cooked a meal for one, after Amelia returned to her parents’ home in Dorset.
He told fans on his Instagram story last night: “A lot of you might have realised I am living by myself during this period going from A&E to home and keeping away from everyone, as I don’t want to give Amelia an illness.”
The medic star added as he sat on his sofa at home: “In the NHS or any other health care system around the world, I know a lot of us like myself are isolating alone and I know that can be not ideal, and lonely even.
“But we’re in it so together and I just wanted to say to anyone that feels that way, you are not alone.”

The reality star later posted a photo of the uplifting, handmade card, and was showered with thank you messages from fans.
He said: “This was made by a lovely little girl who wanted to say thank you to NHS staff for their fight against the coronavirus 
Needless to say I have been sobbing away at how cute this is 
We are in this together. Lets do this 
Thank you little Emma this has made my day x”
One fan wrote beneath his post: “Awww that is so cute. Well done to you and the NHS. You are all truly brilliant”
Alex has been praised by his girlfriend in a gushing social media post as he continues to help amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Amelia shared a throwback of her time with Alex
She said: “I’m so proud of him and I’m endlessly grateful for all the NHS staff and key workers who are working tirelessly during such uncertain times.”
The 29-year-old, who is originally from Carmarthen, Wales, studied medicine at Exeter University and currently working at the University Hospital Lewisham in South East London.
He was able to do Love Island as he was on a zero hours contract at the hospital and he then returned following his stint on the show.

On March 19, 2020 Dr Alex appeared on Good Morning Britain about the experiences of front line NHS staff during the pandemic.
He told presenters Adil Ray and Ranvir Singh that people need to take the pandemic “seriously” because some people suffering from the virus are having to use ventilators.
He has been using his voice to speak to the public about the threat of COVID-19
Dr Alex said: “Patients who are becoming very unwell are requiring a lot of help and support.
“And we’re seeing that number grow. Please take it seriously, especially when it comes to our advice when comes to self-isolation, not going to pubs, clubs and bars.
“It really makes a difference and ultimately, will save lives.”
