LOVE Island fans have claimed they have figured out the real reason that Sammy asked Jess to be his girlfriend.
The couple made things official shortly after they enjoyed a steamy night at the villa’s infamous Hideaway.

The pair have had a rocky time in the villa, with Sammy‘s head turning left right and centre.
However, with the help of his fellow islanders, he asked Jess to be his girlfriend – making them the first couple to make things official.
But some fans weren’t convinced by his gesture, claiming Sammy was doing it in a bid to win the £50K prize money – which is awarded to Love Island‘s winning couple.
Taking to Twitter one said: “Sammy you can propose to Jess all you like, you’re not seeing that 50k.”
While another commented: “The pressure is getting worse in that villa
. People are battling for that 50k aggressively. Sammy and Jess hmmmm.”
This one added: “Sammy thinks he’s sly. He pulled along Jess and now he sees the final with 50k he wants to be the first one that’s bf/gf.”
This other fan fumed: “Sorry this is so performative from sammy i love jess but babe this guy is dying for that 50k.”
Meanwhile, last night fans were also convinced Jess and Sammy took their relationship to the next level after spending a night alone together in the Hideaway.
Viewers think they became the first couple of the 2023 series to have sex in the villa.
The pair wasted no time in making use of the Hideaway‘s entertainment on offer, playing around with whips and giving each other a massage.
Jess then asked: “Where are the condoms then?”
The camera later cut to them rolling around under the sheets.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “None of the couples have had sex on this series have they? Is that a first? 
”
Another penned: “Sammy and Jess defo had sex.”
And a third tweeted: “NOT the sex music for Sammy/Jess!”
Some couples take the opportunity of going into the Hideaway to take their relationship to the next level…
However, others just chat all night and get to know each other better without the eyes of other contestants on them.
Plenty of iconic villa couples have used the Hideaway in previous series such as Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, Megan Barton-Hanson and Wes Nelson.
In the 2022 summer series Paige Thorne and Jacques O’Neill got to spend some time together in the private room.
