A LOTTERY expert has revealed the numbers you shouldn’t pick if you want to win big – as they may lower your odds.
The likelihood of picking a winning ticket for the National Lottery is pretty slim – with chances sitting at around one in 45million.

But gaming expert Francisc Csiki from CasinoAlpha has spilled some of his top tips – which could increase your chances.
In doing so, the lotto expert has outlined what numbers you should avoid.
He says your “lucky numbers” or family members’ birthdays won’t help you get the big win.
Francisc said that’s because while you may think these numbers are personal to you, there’s a big chance you share those special numbers with thousands of others.
Plus, he said lucky numbers, dates of birth and other combinations usually only cover a small range of possibilities.
The expert said you are basically lowering your chances of getting the right match alone.
Instead, Francisc advises punters to pick double digits higher than 31, as they will not be included in birthday tickets.
Statistically, the best way to improve your chances of winning is to buy more tickets for a single draw.
Francisc also broke down which is the best way to play, what you should play, what cause you should support and the overall chances of winning.
Out of all the lotteries, EuroMillions provides the biggest jackpot, but choosing the winning numbers is unlikely.
This is generally the case for all options, as a high maximum prize is counter-balanced by low odds.
For example, in the EuroMillions draw, there is a 1 in 139,838,160 chance of winning the jackpot but a 1 in 13 chance of winning any amount of payout.
And Francisc says that punters hoping for their best chance of success should enter the People’s Postcode draw.
The golden jackpot doesn’t just go to on person as it is spread among one luck postcode area’s participants each month.
Participants can play in daily, biweekly, and monthly draws, with jackpots of £1,000, £30,000, and £7.9 million.
The daily draw awards the money to one winner in a whopping 20 postcodes.
While the Saturday and Sunday draws provide the award to a player in one postcode.
However, receiving a return for entering the raffle does not mean you will necessarily break even.
The People’s Postcode draws have the most generous donations, with 33 perc cent of all revenues going to fund good causes.
