Charlotte Peart wins big

A lucky British woman, Charlotte Peart, has won a staggering £1million jackpot in the National Lottery's EuroMillions draw. The 28-year-old used the last £1.50 in her online lottery account to purchase two tickets. When she received the life-changing phone call, Charlotte couldn't contain her excitement and was heard giggling uncontrollably. "I'm a bit giddy sorry, I think I'm going to cry," she said between laughter.

A moment to remember

Reflecting on the call five years ago, Charlotte said, "I can still vividly remember that moment, I just couldn't stop giggling. Obviously it was the nerves but I think it was coupled with shocked disbelief, only two weeks earlier I had wound my husband up that we'd won £250,000 so to suddenly be calling The National Lottery to officially claim £1M was just crazy. It's great to hear my call again, it takes me right back to the beginning of our amazing winning adventure."

New house and furry friends

Charlotte and her husband, who still work, have used some of their winnings to buy a new house. She described their new home as something they "could only ever have dreamt of" before the win. The couple has also welcomed two Labrador puppies named Missy and Millie, thanks to the extra space in their new home.

Other lottery winners' reactions

Charlotte's reaction is not the only surprising one among lottery winners. Andy Clark, a humble builder from Lincolnshire, won a £76million jackpot in a EuroMillions draw. When he called Camelot to confirm his win, he casually responded, "Yeah," when told he had won £76million. The phone operator was in disbelief at Andy's calm reaction. The National Lottery has made 7,000 Brits millionaires since its inception in 1994.
