ROYAL staff’s secret code names for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been revealed in an explosive new book.

Prince Philip’s friend Gyles Brandreth has claimed palace workers all refer to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the same way.

Royal staff have a code name for Harry and Meghan, it’s been claimed

The upcoming biography by called Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait says staff use the nickname to snub the pair.

An excerpt, published in The Mail On Sunday says: “Whenever the names of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex come up in court circles, courtiers flinch and change the subject or refer to them as ‘persons who live overseas’.”

“If Harry and Meghan are mentioned to members of the Royal Family, they simply smile briefly and say ‘we wish them all the best’ and nothing else.”

However the book also tells how the Queen was “devoted” to Harry and that and “she truly wished him well in his new life abroad”.

It adds that this love was also extended to Meghan when she was brought into the family.

The book says: “The truth is that when her grandson told her he was marrying Meghan Markle, she was truly delighted by the prospect.

“She liked Meghan and told lots of people so. And she did everything she could to make her future granddaughter-in-law feel welcome.”

It comes after it was revealed the Queen secretly fought painful cancer in the final year of her life.

It comes as…

  • The Queen dismissed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview as “nonsense”
  • Her Majesty’s telling reaction to Prince Harry’s romance with Meghan Markle has been revealed
  • The Royal Family found it “bewildering” when Meghan and Harry called their daughter Lilibet
  • The Queen secretly fought painful cancer in the final year of her life
  • The Queen responded to Prince Andrew’s account of his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein with one word
  • The Queen staged photographs with Prince Andrew to show her support during his abuse scandal

Her late Majesty is said to have had a form of bone marrow cancer, which symptoms include bone pain, before her death on September 8.

Her death certificate, released in September, officially recorded her cause of death as “old age”.

But Mr Brandreth wrote: “I had heard that the Queen had a form of myeloma — bone marrow cancer — which would explain her tiredness and weight loss and those ‘mobility issues’ we were often told about during the last year or so of her life.
