STAR Wars legend Mark Hamill has teased 1D singer Harry Styles will be the movie’s next iconic Stormtrooper in The Rise Of Skywalker.
If so, the curly-haired popstar would mirror the likes of Daniel Craig, Tom Hardy and Prince William and Harry as one of the intergalactic baddies.
Mark, 68, who will appear in the movie as a Force ghost following the death of his character Luke Skywalker, dropped a huge hint Harry will fill the Stormtrooper shoes shortly ahead of the film’s release on Thursday.
He Tweeted: Tonight #TheRiseOfSkywalker Premiere finally brings closure to my dysfunctional family!
“Wonder who’ll be the #SecretStormtrooper in this one?
“Considering they’ve all been UK Superstars (2 Royals+2 Actors) but still no singer, all the clues point in one direction: #Stylestrooper .”
With Mark referencing the Cheshire-born vocalist’s surname, it seems there can only be one actor for the role.
As if to clarify, he then tagged on an image showing Harry, complete with black nail polish, wearing the Stormtrooper attire.
One excited fan couldn’t hide their delight and Tweeted: “My worlds colliding. I would scream in the theater at random stormtroopers on screen.”
Another added: “If @Harry_Styles was a trooper trying to lure me to the darkside…. I would change sides SO QUICK.”
One then posted: “I would be… gobsmacked if @Harry_Styles did this…”
It remains to be seen whether the Sign Of The Times singer will indeed feature in the Hollywood blockbuster.
Disneyhave announced that Episode 9 will hit UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
It follow on fromStars Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)andStar Wars: The Last Jedi (2017).
