ROCKING up the Dales with an explosive revenge plan, Caleb Milligan got close to getting away with the Tate fortune.

But it all backfires on him next week in Emmerdale when one resident brutally attacks him and leaves him for dead.

Caleb Milligan has made many enemies in the Dales

One of those include his brother Cain Dingle

One of Caleb’s foes retaliates next week, leaving him for dead

Caleb Milligan (portrayed by Will Ash) arrived in the ITV village with a mission to make Kim Tate pay for his father Frank’s death and take all the family millions.

In an attempt to make things run smoothly, he pushed his own son Nicky (Lewis Cope) into taking part in his plan.

Moira Dingle even became collateral damage when Caleb managed to sabotage her business and convince her to sell her farm to Kim Tate.

Unfortunately, the schemer’s plan was interrupted when his true intentions came to light.

As a result, Caleb has made many enemies in the eponymous village, all of which could retaliate.

Coming up next week, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is seething to find out Caleb’s taken up residence in the B&B.

Eager to prevent a fight and stop his father from getting into more trouble, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) suggests they let the family decide Caleb’s fate.

That same afternoon, the Dingle Court convenes to debate Caleb – Belle, Cain, Charity, Chas, Moira, Nate, Noah, Sam, Zak.

The court is thrown on its head when the defendant himself makes a surprise appearance, resolute he’s staying in the village.

Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is left on her own to deter Cain from revenge the following day.

Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), on the other hand, rejects Caleb when he tries to apologise.

However, he soon finds comfort in a lonely Charity Dingle who is gutted to see Mackenzie Boyd and Chloe Harris getting close.

The Woolpack landlady (Emma Atkins) offers him a drink and, before long, they bond over wine and find solace in each other.

Later on, Charity and Caleb agree to keep their night together a secret.

But things only get worse from there for Caleb.

After a tense altercation with a humiliated Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), Caleb invites Leyla to lunch in the pub.

Just as Leyla begins to forgive him, a bust up between Charity and Mackenzie leads to the shock revelation that Caleb spent the night with Charity and the information captures the attention of the entire pub.

A jealous Mack squares up to Caleb and all hell breaks loose.

Once home, Gabby’s upset after her run in with Caleb and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) simmers with anger on her behalf.

Cain’s unimpressed to hear what Charity has done and an altercation ensues as Caleb goads Cain.

Moira and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) pull Cain away but the tough man isn’t the only villager who wants to throw punches at Caleb.

A while later, Caleb further enrages Mack (Lawrence Robb), who only came to apologise for yesterday.

Burning with fury, Mack ominously assures him there will be consequences.

Will is still seething at Caleb whilst David reassures Leyla as he does his utmost to prevent Leyla from relapsing, promising there will be an opportunity for them to watch Caleb’s comeuppance from the side-lines.

That afternoon, the villagers all unite against Caleb during a tense altercation in the pub.

Squaring up to them all Caleb takes verbal pot shots at each of them.

Exasperated with the spectacle, Chas throws him out whilst the others glare bloody murder.

Caleb walks away but unbeknownst to him, a mystery figure follows his every move.

That evening, out on a woodland ridge, Caleb’s blindsided when the unknown figure rushes out and pushes him over the edge.

His lifeless body sprawls on the ground below while, back in the village, a number of suspicious characters all return from mysterious outings.

Who could push Caleb?

Will he survive the fall?
