Caleb recently threatened to destroy his own son Nicky as her wanted to back out of their plan to take over Home Farm.
Next week, the schemer’s threat becomes reality.
The nanny played by Lewis Cope was embroiled in his father Caleb’s plans and, with the pressure becoming too much to bear, he expressed his wish to stop the charade.
Regular ITV viewers will remember how Nicky made Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) believe he was in love with her and ready to marry her when he, in fact, is head over heels for his friend Ally.
Unable to cope with the guilt of lying and the feeling of going against his own nature, Nicky tried to withdraw from Caleb’s plans.
And while Caleb was happy his son came out to him, he refused to allow him to let Gabby go, determined to get his hands on the Tate fortune.
Nicky is pressured into marrying Gabby next week who, in contrast, is over the moon.
Coming up, at the outskirts of the village, a hungover Nicky meets with Ally (Josh Horrocks) who suggests he marries him instead.
Although he’s surprised, Nicky walks away, accepting his fate but still hating the lie he’s trapped in.
He’s then thrown into a panic when his father Caleb (Will Ash) tells him the goal stops have moved yet again and they’ll need to play a longer game before they can get what they want.
Frustrated, Nicky tells Caleb he wants out once again but how will his father respond?
The following day, the wedding buzz begins as the families prepare for Gabby and Nicky’s big day.
Gabby is in her wedding dress, overwhelmed with joy and emotion as she reveals to Nicky how she wants him to officially adopt her son Thomas.
But it’s all too much for Nicky – he blurts out that he’s gay and can’t go through with the wedding.
The bride’s bubble is officially burst and, sideswiped by the news, Gabby is completely distraught.
Caleb panics when he learns later that Nicky has backed out of his own wedding.
On edge and with his plan on its very last legs, Caleb confronts his son… and punches him hard in the face.
Nicky is stunned when his dad is casting him adrift as Caleb orders Nicky to take the fall when he empties the Home Farm accounts.
But how will he react when it’s clear Kim Tate has finally figured out what he’s been up to?
