Colin Bennett, a veteran BBC star known for his role as Mr Bennett on the children's show Take Hart and its spin-off Hartbeat, has passed away.

Colin Bennett, who portrayed Mr Bennett on Take Hart, has sadly passed away. His son, EastEnders actor Tom Bennett, paid tribute to his father in a heartfelt tweet.
"My Dad (Mr Bennett) sadly passed away 2 weeks ago today. I still don't quite have the words. He was my hero," Tom Bennett wrote. "I will miss him more than he will ever know. I love you, Dad."
A Legacy on British Television
Take Hart, the show where Colin Bennett made his mark, aired from 1977 to 1983, followed by the spin-off Hartbeat from 1984 to 1989.
