FORMER CORRIE actress Alexandra Mardell has revealed she has landed a new role – her first since quitting the soap earlier this year.
The 28 year-old, who bowed out of her role as hairdresser Emma Brooker on the ITV soap after more than 4 years, has bagged a role in a new BBC radio drama, No Platformed.
And she is starring in the project alongside Outnumbered star Hugh Dennis.
Alex will play a character named Clara in the four-part series which starts June 15.
She shared a snap of the script to episode three and captioned it: “Did a thing! AÂ @bbcradio4Â thing!

The job is the first high profile acting job Alex has landed since leaving.

After finishing filming on the show, the actress has helped out with acting workshops for young actors in Leeds and Yorkshire.
Alexandra made the decision to quit the soap in a bid to pursue other roles.
It’s also thought that she also wanted to focus her attention on planning her forthcoming wedding to long-term boyfriend Joe Parker.Â
Speaking about her decision to leave after four years on the cobbles, she said: “Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life.
“Four years have gone so fast.
“Compared to other cast members I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult.
“But I feel it’s the right time for me.
“I can’t thank everyone at Coronation Street enough for welcoming me and trusting me to tell so many wonderful and heartfelt Âstories.”
