CORONATION Street viewers were left perplexed during the course of last night’s episode as they noticed a ‘blunder’ with Paul Foreman’s cheating storyline.

Viewers of the ITV soap opera have watched on as Paul, played by Peter Ash, has slowly begun to come to terms with his life-altering Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Paul got himself into a mess

He hooked up with ex lover Zac who stole his cash

During Monday’s edition of the soap, his family organised a ‘chilli-eating’ contest for him in a bid to raise some much-needed cash to support Paul through his illness.

However, he was left feeling overwhelmed and after tension brewing between him, mum Bernie and his partner Billy, he headed off to Debbie Webster’s hotel to drown his sorrows.

Once inside the establishment, he propped up the bar with an old flame – Zac.

Zac was working at the hotel as a plumber and had a room to stay in overnight.

As the drinks kept flowing, Paul and Zac decided to head upstairs with one another where things almost got intimate.

Paul kissed Zac but soon confessed all about Billy and suggested they just continue getting drunk instead.

Unbeknown to Paul, Zac had spied the wad of cash he had in his pocket from the charity fundraiser – more than £800 – and after plying Paul with booze and letting him pass out, he made off with it.

Paul woke up on Wednesday’s episode and was left stunned to realise that the money had gone.

However, rather than attempting to find it or make contact with Debbie, he simply gave up after one phone call to Zac did not connect.

Viewers were at first left in frustration as they insisted that Zac would be easy to track down.

One wrote: “Wasn’t Paul’s hook up doing plumbing work for the hotel?? Surely, Debbie will have his details etc.!”

Another added: “If Zac was employed by the hotel he will be very easy to track down!”

Before a third wrote: “Unsure why he didn’t nick the money in the bar – Paul might’ve thought that anyone could have taken it.

“Now, he’ll know it was this guy and if he’s doing plumbing work for Debbie’s hotel, they’ll surely have all his details!”

It was only when Paul confessed all to his loved ones that Bernie thought of trying the hotel where her son almost engaged in the illicit tryst.

However, Debbie was also not much help as she also said all she had was the same phone number as Paul.

Eventually, to everyone’s relief, Zac arrived at the Rovers, without knowing Paul would so happen to be there, and handed back the money, less the 90 pounds he had spent that morning.

He told Paul how he read news articles online about the fundraiser and felt compelled to return the cash.

Zac then read about the fundraiser online
