MONDAY’S trip to the cobbles showed Gemma Winter fronting a fundraiser and Ryan Connor making a big decision.

However, eagle-eyed Coronation Street viewers were left wondering if two major characters had been secretly given the chop.

A new week of drama began in the cobbles on Monday

Paul made a devastating decision

But viewers were left wondering where two characters had gone

The ITV soap kicked off a new week with Gemma Winter (played by Dolly-Rose Campbell) trying to raise money for her ill brother Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) who is left struggling with MND.

Elsewhere in Weatherfield, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) decided to get back to work after his acid attack while Carla Connor (Alison King) tried to secure a deal for the Underworld factory.

Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) on the other hand enlisted the help of his former wife Gabrielle (Helene Maksoud) to try and get his hand on the business.

Elsewhere, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) appeared to be getting dangerously close to another resident.

While drama continued, fans of the Manchester-based program couldn’t help but notice that two characters have been missing for weeks with no explanation as to their whereabouts.

Worried viewers turned to social media to demand answers from soap bosses.

“Where is Peter? Also Asha? It’s been ages since we saw them”, one of them questioned.

“Where is Asha???? Literally not been seen for months!!!”, another fumed while a third penned: “Where are Peter and Dev’s kids??? Missing in action???”

While Asha (Tanisha Gorey) and her brother Aadi (Adam Hussain) have seemingly vanished from Weatherfield, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) was seen taking part in Gemma’s fundraiser for Paul.

This consisted of him competing against Shona Platt and Chesney Brown in a chilli-eating competition which ended with Paul being given £800.

Unfortunately, things took a disastrous turn when he rekindled with an old flame behind Billy Mayhew’s back.

Meanwhile, Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) hasn’t been seen alongside his wife Carla in several weeks, despite them sharing a home.

He was last seen in the spotlight when Carla was in the throes of a mental breakdown, completely unaware she had actually been drugged by Stephen Reid.

Peter helped Carla recover from what appeared to be another psychotic episode which led to her taking a step back from her own business and deciding to sell the Underworld factory.

The cabbie’s nephew Adam Barlow is going through turmoil of his own after finding out his cheating wife Sarah Platt was potentially pregnant with Damon Hay’s child.

Spoilers have confirmed the ordeal will be taking a toll on Adam as he’s due to suffer a devastating panic attack while in court.

But where are Peter and Asha? And when will they make their returns?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.

Peter was last seen helping Carla recover from what appeared to be a psychotic episode earlier this year

But where is Asha Alahan?
