CORONATION Street fans were left shocked as teen Summer Spellman discovered that she was pregnant in tonight’s episode.
Viewers of the ITV soap will have seen Summer down in the dumps in recent days after Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) told her boyfriend Aaron Sandford (James Craven) to stay away from her as he brutally dumped her.
A pregnancy test is discovered
Fans soon realise it is teen Summer who is expecting.
But fans discovered the teen had discovered some life-changing news by the end of the episode.
Corrie bosses kept viewers on tenterhooks and guessing as it was not initially clear which resident was pregnant after a mystery pregnancy test was discovered by Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), with many of the street’s residents in the frame.
Chesney’s girlfriend Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) had picked up a bargain during Summer’s charity clothes swap but as she headed off to the loo, Chesney discovered a positive pregnancy test.
After confronting Gemma and expressing his worry over adding to their current brood of five, Gemma laughed as she said it was not hers and must be the owner of the jacket.
As Gemma headed to work, Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) confirmed she had flogged a denim jacket after it was getting too tight around her waist arising Gemma’s suspicions.
After insinuating Daisy is expecting, she confirms it’s not her before the pair turn to their next possible culprit – Carla Connor (Alison King).
During a moment in the pub, the barmaids ask Carla and Peter if there ‘is anything you want to tell us’, hinting at the news.
Carla and Peter soon burst into hysterics at the thought of expecting a baby – leaving all the residents on the street stumped and guessing which one of them is actually expecting.
Elsewhere, back at the community centre, Summer confides in Paul that HER denim jacket is missing and when Paul realises it’s the one his sister has bought and she tells him about the mystery test, he is left shocked at the news.
Confronting Summer, Paul said: “I think I tracked down your denim jacket.”
Summer relived, asked: “Ah, where is it?”
“Gemma bought it, I think,” Paul added, before saying: “More importantly, it’s what she found in the pocket.”
Realising she had been rumbled, a worried Summer questioned: “You haven’t told Billy?”
As Paul admitted the secret was still between them two, he opened up about forcing Aaron to distance himself from his girlfriend despite being in love.
Fans of the show we’re stunned at Summer’s pregnancy revelation with some shocked at the fact that half of the street discovered the news of a pregnancy before Aaron.
One fan wrote: “Paul’s connected the dots that Summer is pregnant!”
A second added: “Oh FFS! Summer is pregnant!”
A third said: “Summer is pregnant! Don’t do this to me!”
Eventually Summer told Aaron the news and the pair reconciled as they hugged and admitted their love for each other before Summer questioned her beau: “What are we gonna do?”
